When you are putting money toward your health and well-being, you’ll need to make sure you’re making the best possible choice for your Marathon alcohol and drug abuse treatment center. While the smartest way to go may still be to dial our hotline advisors so they can discuss your specific needs, reading the ratings and reviews on some of the addiction recovery facilities in your area is another good way to get started.
It is a very regimented and strict facility. Even though they promoted themselves as a "Drug and Alcohol" treatment center, the treatment centered around the treatment of alcoholism. I was a heroin addict and I was for forced to use the alcoholic treatment curriculum and "just use the word Addict in place of Alcoholic. Also, even though I had detoxed in a hospital for 6 days before entering this facility, I was still very sick. They called my need for rest "laziness" and my inability to eat solid food "anorexia". They had little to no experience with addicts, particularly heroin addicts. I became dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea and had to be hospitalized during my treatment. I was accused of trying to get out of the chores and the exercises we had to do. They really had NO idea what to do with me and definitely no clue how to counsel me.I completed my treatment there 3 years ago, so perhaps things have changed. Unless it is EVERYTHING, I suggest only alcoholics attend.
Received appropriate treatment for my condition. One on one care with staff. Follow up counseling with physiatrist.
Strengths: Understanding, Group Therapy, 1 on 1 counseling when needed. Counselors who are recovering addicts. Weaknesses: coordinating same addictions. They were to quick to transfer me inpatient. This is was not me. I left after 2 weeks. Then attended intense outpatient treatment at Thedacare Behavioral Health
