I had never been to a self-pay facility before but the biggest advantage was definitely in the experience, obvious strength and the closeness of everyone there. There were no, "I am better than you, or I know more than you" attitudes going on. We were all just one-addict-helping- another and each other. It worked for me because I stayed in contact with the staff and many people who went through the program. Best place I had ever been to, my 7th in a span of almost 30 years.
Helps you to have a strong sense of self. Makes you feel worthy. Cost was way too high. There were not enough counselors. They really try to help you. The counselors were involved and attentive. But the cost was extreme.
