This program was disturbing to say the least . You were not seen by a doctor . The nurses communicated with the doctor via text. They cannot handle medical issues even though they say that they can on the front end to get you in the door. The staff uses your family as a weapon (well they try) by manipulating them and telling them that you’re not doing well . They do this in an effort to extend your stay . The living quarters are infested with scorpions, literally found one inside of my pajama pants while I was in the detox aka a large room with 8 beds and a broken shower. Disgusting and creepy. The general lack of empathy at this facility is completely shocking, please if you’re looking for treatment do not consider this facility, it is not a place for your loved one if you actually care about their mental well-being, you will be in the dark regarding their true state during treatment. I lost a total of 21 pounds while I was at this facility due to being so stressed out that I could not eat . I was so scared and stressed out that I wanted to escape but they kept my cell phone and ID locked in a cabinet. When I went to the emergency room they would not let me call my husband. This place should be shut down. Reporting them to all insurance providers, the state of Texas (dept who licensed them), and CARF is the start of my efforts to prevent this nightmare facility from harming any additional patients who are seeking a better way of life.
Official Facility Response:

Awakenings Hill Country is proud to be fully licensed by the State of Texas and certified by CARF and NAATP. We are committed to the best in medical and clinical care. Everyday, we strive to be better everyday for every woman we serve. If we can answer any questions, do not hesitate to call. Have a great day! Edit

Horrible facility. Multiple women witnessed me being yelled at by staff I was falsely led to this facility thinking the head injury I had and the faith that I had an Jesus was OK to use in my recovery. They do not follow their own manual and they can't seem to handle anybody that is detoxing. 6 different staff members including counselors will ask you questions than yell at me bringing me to tears. They shouldn't run a rehab. Many women witnessed what happened to me. I was forced to discharge on day 5 after a verbal attack when I was praying silently during morning meditation. I was accused of not participating when my name is signed on many forms from my attendance. They tell you after you get there that 70% of staff is in recovery themselves.

I walked into Awakenings scared and not wanting to be there. I left 30 days later with my head held high, no shame and ready to tackle life one day at a time. I would recommend my family and friends to Awakenings if they were to seek treatment if needed.
