About Rushford at Stonehaven

Rushford provides life-saving and life-changing treatment to thousands of children, adults and families each year. For more than three decades, our organization has been committed to delivering high quality behavioral healthcare services to those in need. We have collaborated with some of the nation's top universities including Yale, Darmouth and the University of Connecticut on research studies and other initiatives designed to improve treatment outcomes for individuals with mental health and addiction disorders. Unlike many other addiction programs, Rushford is licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the Joint Commission. To maintain our licensing and accreditation, we must always be striving to improve our performance, to raise the level of care we provide to our clients and to demonstrate accountability in the delivery of services.

I have heard tons of people complain about this program and how the program fails them and how they just babysit them. After being here and talking to the director personally, I hear it being stressed that this program will not recover you, this program is designed to test individuals in a controlled environment, the tests being relative to what we (the occupants) will experience in the world without a sheltered program holding our hand. There are clinicians and certified staff members with personal experience always working and willing to talk and answer any questions. This program is designed to give us oppirtunity to grow ourselves and our coping mechanisms if we allow it to and take the proper steps we as individuals need to do in our own lived to better ourselves and our habits. The program and staff members and clinicians are happy to provide materials and resources to help us along the path, but most of the time we have to be the ones to acknowledge that we need help, and to be the ones to ask for said help. This program allows the opportunity to nd encourages going to nearby AA/NA/faith based/church, as well as encourages us to start building healthy lifelong habits and skills, with incentives for doing so. Overall I greatly appreciate not only Stonehaven, but Rushford in general, I just wish more of my friends would open their eyes and accept help from programs like these.

By far the best rehab I have been to out of a dozen. If u want to get better and are willing to do things for yourself stone haven sets you up to re-integrate back into society with a solid network and foundations. Its principle is that they want you to do things for yourself. So anyone who didn't get what they wanted out of it didn't put enough into it. They don't do things for you they motivate you to do it for yourself. And to be successful that's what addict.

Stonehaven is made to sound wonderful but it is NOT! The staff is just babysitters. No counseling. Extremely mismanaged. All you do is sleep, eat and smoke. The groups are repetitive. I would NEVER recommend anyone go there!
I would not give them high marks. It seemed extremely mismanaged with no individual counseling or advocacy. I left Stonehaven with no place to live or treatment plan. And the councilors happily waved good bye to me knowing this. It\'s about money not patients.
