St. Monica's Behavioral Health Services for Women

120 Wedgewood Drive, Lincoln, Nebraska, 68510
For more than 50 years, St Monica’s has been helping women get sober and rebuild their lives. The gender-specific rehab helps clients help themselves by offering a supportive and therapeutic environment for recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. The facility takes a trauma-informed approach to treatment, assisting women in uncovering and addressing the issues underlying their addiction. Once these issues are realized, clients are able to adopt healthy coping skills and establish a solid foundation for lifelong sobriety.

    Mary Barry MagsamenExecutive Director
Born and raised in Lincoln, Mary has been with St. Monica’s for 14 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human relations and a master of arts in administration from Doane College. She’s also trained as a Doula! Mary and her husband, John, have been married for 30 years and have three children, Meg, Drew and Emma. She loves to bike and walk her dog, Stella, and she has recently become passionate about knitting and felting. “I am proud to be a part of the amazing and life-changing work of St. Monica's for so many reasons: our unique way of giving women a safe place and the tools and support to turn their lives around; that through recovery women are able to parent their children, forever changing the outcome for those children. I am proud to work with so many employees who are here for the same reasons, to help women heal, and find their voices. I am proud of the professionals and community members who are asked to support so many worthy causes, but who choose to serve on our board or as a Friend of St. Monica's. I have always felt that St. Monica's is very much like family, and I'm so proud to be a part of this family.”
