Specialization

  • Aftercare Support

Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.
  • Process Abuse Treatment

Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.

I was a client of Summit Malibu in May 2019. The staff was extremely kind and caring, and nursed me back to emotional and physical health. The therapists ran effective groups and were astute at offering individualized care. The chef was phenomenal - I can’t speak highly enough of him.

Coming to Summit was my third time in rehab. This is the only place I have gone that gave me real individual therapy, like 9 times a week, and helped me deal with my issues. The groups were pretty good and it was more than just listening to a therapist--we did a lot of things as part of them, and even got to do a nutrition group each week where we got to cook. The food was awesome and they also took us on weekly outings which were very cool. I had a nice private room with a tv, nothing over the top, but nice and the bed was really good for sleeping. The best part though was the staff- they really made me feel like it was a big family and I belonged.

At least 5 individual therapy sessions a week, small/intimate, family like atmosphere. More beach outings would be great (once a week isn't always enough) I was here for 90 days, they helped me walk through a divorce, deal with trauma and untreated depression as well as my addiction. I now have 2 years of sobriety, and this place is still my "home".
