Where to start....
Let's go with the staff and detox to begin with. From the time of arrival upon intake I was met with smiles and made to feel comfortable and welcome by all. I was admitted and taken up to my room within the detox room area. The RA's and nursing staff are on top of their game. The rooms were clean, meals brought to me ( bedside) seeing how I wasn't trying to get out of that bed. So much sleep to catch up on. Vitals are taken routinely, and I was encouraged to get up and about. The detox facility has a fully stocked kitchen which the residents in detox may access 24/7. Private bathing and showers were nice to have not to mention the jacuzzi tub. The kitchen staff are very competent and professional in satisfying any health or diet concerns. Without fail my detox experience went as well as could be expected. Never any fun kicking the substances out that I chose to put in, however my gratitude is extended to staff for making it as comfortable as possible.
Now that detox was done the work was to begin. With groups held daily with a set curriculum. The counseling staff are knowledgeable and show a no nonsense approach to each resident. The group as a whole are taught to recognize the traits of addiction , how to cope with the triggers that arise, and how to overcome challenges present due to personal feelings ( core issues). One on one follow ups are held with assigned staff from within the Counseling Dept. Thanks for keeping it real, actually trusting me, and taking the time to understand my seemingly daily issues that arose. Hat's off to you!
The Lakes has a dual diagnosis credential and employs the top of the A list as the facilities psychiatrist. I never believed in the field until our initial meeting. He read right through me. He held it all till the end and then just said it straight . I couldn't mask the questions with my delusional answers. Touche . Awesome man indeed. The best! I feel fortunate to have been able to work with him on figuring out my life.
The accommodations and amenities are suiting. rooms are well kept, clean with dual occupancy each , queen beds. There are single rooms available for married couples. Which is how my treatment began. The only down fall about the rooms were the doors being alarmed at night. I my self being institutionalized having served multiple years behind the wall. Didn't like it at all. However everything for a reason. Don't have to like it just have to get through and accept it ( keeps residents from wandering around, room to room, keeps a lid on any extra curricular activities).
Unfortunately my wife chose not to clean up as we left shortly there after. She did not return with me the following week. She uses to this day. We are not presently together. The reason I mention this leads me to the next area of The Lakes which I will do my best to describe.
The absolute core of The Lakes Treatment Center.....
Owner and C.E.O.
Let me just say this... Thank you for both saving my life and keeping that life sentence at Bay. Such a truly wonderful human being! 123% Respect ! Yes really! So much love, so much. There was never a time she did not drop whatever she was doing to see any of us residents.
Let this be known, all negativity toward this lady is ill fated and only meant to discourage others. It appalls me to read reviews from people who have given up or never cared to begin with for themselves or any one else.
For you, I literally owe you my life. Thank you.
The last thing I need to say is this . I was not court mandated, I did not have insurance, I was given no scholorship, I sold my home for my now exwife and I to be able to live without meth in our lives. The absolute best money I have ever spent in my life. Well worth each and every dollar. Make no mistake, the process that has been established at The Lakes Treatment Center works! Thank you to all residents , families, and staff.
