He checked himself out against advise. They did a good job at the facility and I know others who have benefited but they can't make someone stay.

You can't make anyone accept the wonderful gift of sobriety. It has to be wanted. You can't beat it into someone, pray it into someone, lock someone up to deter them. It is totally up to the person. I realize it affects many of those around the addict but until one realizes this him or herself there is absolutely nothing you can do but pray they find there way. I do want to say that I don't believe in tough love the addict feels bad enough. I don't condone enabling someone but pushing them out and not talking to them really has very negative consequences.

Maintaining a full schedule is a strength. Overcrowded, counselors with extremely high case loads, unhealthy meals, no religious choices outside christianity.

Attention to habits of patients was good. Rules about visits from family should be revised. Good place to stay local while getting the help needed.
