It really sucked.
Councilors were always late, client's couldn't call the police when assaulted by other client's.
I learned more from my Heart, than I got from the councilor's.

I was a inpatient at Thunderbird from Oct thru Dec of 2004. I walked in those doors with the attitude that I've been down this road before and it would probably turn out the same again where I use as soon as I left treatment. There was something different about this program. The counselors really cared, the one on one meetings with the counselors had me realize the distruction I was heading for. The meetings were very enlightening. Other patients really cared about you. I got married while still in treatment, fiance was not in the program. When I got married I still felt I wasn't done with my treatment so I stayed an extra 30 days. When the time came for me to walk out those doors I felt confident that I would do better this time around. I am so proud to say I have not used to this day. 17 years clean and counting. I am so grateful for the help I received there.

They were Culturally sensitive 	Being a Native American, the program was based on talking circle, smudging and a sweat lodge. Experienced, caring conselors who really cared.

Horrible staff from the top to the bottom. The head only care about the beds being filled and the bills getting paid. Not client centered at all. Staff driven and they have poor boundaries.

The facility has good visitor hours and times and the staff are accommodating to their client's visitors and needs. The treatment does not seem to be very specifically oriented. It's very broad. And, more like a detox than rehab. The staff were very helpful, and seemed to be genuinely invested in the recovery of the patients there. The property is located in a somewhat more rural area near Seattle proper. Strict visitation rules are in place.

CDPs are well equipped with knowledge inspiration and hope that encouraged me to thrive in a brand new way of life. Genuine CDP that cared for their clients without being annoying. The chefs and quality of food was outstanding! Exercise room was a weakness, but they did have equipment and activities. CDPs can only do so much and cannot sober up for you. I was equipped with tools I use to this day approaching 23 months clean and sober. And weed is legal here in Wa. Extremely wide range of people, but I didn't go for the people. I still keep in touch with a few from treatment that are living a new life as well. Food was great.

Very good food and counseling as well as very good meetings. 

It was a helpful and pleasant experience, although that is different for different people.  They let help in the kitchen, since I got up so early and that routine was good for me. staff was considerate.

This treatment is for the lowest of the low poverty stricken individuals. But regardless-- treatment will work if you allow it too...Overall at least I had somewhere to go and try getting sober - and it is better than under the bridge. I entered treatment sometime around February 2008 or so...

Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
