My counselor there was by far the most phenomenal counselor I've come in contact with in my 25 years of addiction. She has been a pillar to my recovery a huge part of my sobriety and has helped me in every aspect of my new life!! She is patient and informative and knows all the tools needed as a former addict which makes all the difference she makes it extremely comfortable and easy to talk too. I'm very thankful to have her in my journey to recovery ! A+++
My husband spent 30 days there and emerged a new man with many of his issues under control. As much as it was hard work and difficult to be away from family, he almost enjoyed it due to the luxurious campus and great food (we've heard it has gone downhill since). The various counseling methods and overall approach they take works well. This allowed him to make great strides in his recovery and mental state. He did have a bit too much down time and could have used more one on one counseling sessions and did not get the advertised 4 per week. I'd give them more than a 4 if they hadn't totally dropped the ball when it came to aftercare. The discharge plan and coordination with other providers was almost non-existent. For the extraordinary cost it would have been nice to get the year of follow up and we were promised.
I was a client at avenues for 6 months. I found it to be professionally run by caring people. Right now I have 1 year clean with more to go.my counselor was crummy but all the others were good, don't worry he has since left.the living arrangements were fine and the food they provided was sufficient. You cooked for yourself. When the young guys cooked you got hot dogs and burgers .when the older ones cooked you ate salmon, pork shoulders, pork chops etc. It was hit or miss but never bad. Plus you could make what you wanted. The patient techs were good and helpful. One in particular pat would literally go to the ends of the earth to help you. Gotta love the guys genuiness and caring demeanor. The housing manager devin was really good also. Sadly I've been in quite a few rehabs and I would rate avenues an 8 out of 10. I would recommend it to family and friends. I learned alot there which helps me now.you can only get better coming here. Jamie lorber
