If you are putting money into your health and your future, you need to make sure you’re making the right decision for your Honor alcohol and drug dependence treatment program.
They did a lot of one on one help if you needed it. Some of the staff was to pushy to take the time to sit and talk to you if you needed to talk to someone other than the group sections. It worked for me and I am totally grateful for them they saved my life.
Overall my time here was great. I was not excited about being put in as an inpatient, but the staff, environment, treatments and people I met there were definitely life changing.
Thank you to Forever Recovery I have been free from drugs for 5 years. I started using drugs around the 8th grade when I moved to a new school. I was a very shy person who was not very confident so it was easy for me to fall into the not so good crowd at my new school. At the time, I thought it was the easiest way to fit In. I began like most kids, smoking pot and drinking. By 10th grade, I was taking acid and doing cocaine and anything else that was going around the school at the time. I am from a small town outside of Philadelphia where drugs were very much an extracurricular activity. I came from a very solid ‘normal’ family with my parents together and was given a lot of love. They caught wind of my bad choices very early, from the first time in 8th grade when I got caught drinking so my life was no secret to them. I was often grounded and in trouble, this went on all through high school and when I tried to go away to college. My parents tried to keep a close eye on what I was doing but there was not much they could do when I was in another town. Summer before my sophomore year, I moved back home to make some extra money working for my uncle. During that time, I had been doing tons of cocaine and I was introduced to pills as they were all over my town. By the end of the summer, my addiction had spiraled out of control. I had yelling and crying fights with my family because they were trying to help and I did not want help. I was causing turmoil within my brothers and sisters and breaking my family’s hearts. After that summer, my parents sent me to my aunt to get away from drugs. I quickly found the next group of people to get high with. They did not know what to do with me. By this time, I was heavily into pills and had done heroin a few times. I went back home for my birthday while my parents had me on lock. The second night home, I snuck out, got high and overdosed at my friend’s house. When I came to, my mother was crying and screaming. I was completely cloudy but will never forget that moment. I had gone in and out of detox twice and a very short stint at a local rehab before finally being sent to Forever Recovery. It was far from easy and the first week all I wanted to do is leave, but I was blessed with a special support group at the detox center and things started looking up. The education, love, support and friendships at Forever hands down is what saved me. Full circle, I have found my passions, I go to schools in the area where I grew up and speak to the kids, share my story and hope that I can help anyone who is struggling with everything from fitting in at school to addiction to self love.
